The search for another mammalogist keeps on. My students in anatomy are always given Laboratory Exercises that will teach them about the beautiful adaptations of mammals, with the hope that someone might also consider or develop a passion to study the remarkable species of mammals in the country. They have seen species of rats, examined them and identified them. They have analyzed mammalian hairs, described them and identified differences in their surface patterns. They have spent time wrestling with several skulls of mammals, measured them and analyzed features that are necessary to identify each species.

Just like any other field of biology, pursuing mammalian study is hard but it is very interesting. I believe that training such as the those that we do in class will show them other possible careers, other than medicine. Every semester, the hope remains. (ARIS REGINALDO)
