LOANS AND CIRCULATION

Students who are currently enrolled, regular faculty and staff of UPB may use the library upon presentation of a valid ID.

Alumni, former faculty and staff may use the library upon presentation of a valid ID and proof of former UPB status. They will be entitled to free use of the library for five (5) days per semester or summer; after which they will pay a research fee of PHP 20.00/day or PHP 450.00/year.

Government researchers may use the library upon presentation of a valid office ID and referral letter from the office's Head Librarian. They will be entitled to free use of the library for five(5) days per semester or summer, after which they will pay a research fee of PHP 20.00/day; PHP 450.00/semester; or PHP 300.00/summer.

Private researchers and students from other schools may use the library upon presentation of a valid office or school ID and referral letter from the office's or school's head librarian. They will be accommodated upon payment of a research fee of PHP50.00/day; PHP450.00/semester; or PHP300.00/summer.

FINES

Circulation/Filipiniana book: PHP 2.00/day exclusive of Sundays and Holidays. 

Reserve book: PHP 1.00 for first hour; PHP 5.00 for succeeding hours; PHP 50.00 for one full day inclusive of Sundays and Holidays. 

Lost book: a) Replacement or good photocopy of same title; b) Replacement of another title to be approved by the librarian; c) Payment of its current value.  In all cases the person shall pay an additional fine equivalent to 50% cost of the book.

If lost book is found, a fine of PHP 2.00/day is computed from the due date until the date of return, but not to exceed the current cost of the book. If current cost cannot be assessed from certain materials, e.g. Filipiniana materials, 50% will be added to the acquisition cost.

PRIVILEGES

Five (5) circulation books may be borrowed by undergraduate students and 10 circulation books by graduate students.

Circulation books may be borrowed for two weeks during the semester and one week during the summer. These are renewable only once - on the due date.

Two reserve books per subject may be borrowed overnight.

Ten circulation books may be borrowed by the faculty for one month. Faculty may also borrow serials (except current issue) for one week. Said materials are renewable only once - on the due date.

Five circulation books may be borrowed by regular Research, Extension and Professional Staff (REPS) and 5 circulation books by regular Administrative staff for two weeks. They are renewable only once - on the due date.

Alumni, former faculty and staff of UP, government researchers, private researchers and graduate students from other schools have Library Room-Use privileges.
